About Realm Tiles
Modular 3D-printable terrain, designed by hand — one creator, one community, no shortcuts.

Hey — I'm Shepherd. I design every piece Realm Tiles sells, run the shop, build the Forge Builder, manage the community, and answer the mail. There's no team of marketers behind a curtain here. It's me, a home office in Oklahoma, and a whole lot of terrain.
This page is the honest version of how that happened and what I'm actually building. No origin-story polish, no "we" that's really just one guy. If something here makes you want to ask a question, ask — details on how at the bottom.
Where this started
I grew up on a farm in a small Oklahoma town — the kind of place where if something's broken and nobody's coming to fix it, you figure it out yourself. That's pretty much the whole story of Realm Tiles.
I've got a wife and four kids — two boys, two girls — and a game table that never stays clean. I wanted terrain for our games: castle walls, dungeon halls, towers, the works. What was out there was either too expensive, didn't fit together, or didn't look the way I wanted it to. So I started designing my own pieces, printing them, and putting them on the table.
They worked. My kids loved them. Then people online started asking where they could get them. That was the moment Realm Tiles stopped being a hobby and started being the thing I do full-time.
Everything I build, I build for a real table first. If a piece doesn't snap together cleanly and look good under the dice, it doesn't ship. The physical pieces are the source of truth — the files serve them, not the other way around.
What Realm Tiles is
Realm Tiles is a growing library of modular, 3D-printable tabletop terrain — castle, dungeon, and adventure pieces that physically snap together with tabs and slots. You print them yourself (or have them printed), paint them how you like, and build worlds that actually fit together across every set.
You can get the files two ways: a Round Table subscription for ongoing access to the whole growing catalog, or as one-off packs you buy and keep. Either way, the Forge Builder is free — lay out your whole build in 3D before you print a single piece.
How I do it
Quality over quantity.
I'd rather release one pack that's genuinely great than ten that are just okay. Every piece is hand-designed, test-printed, and checked on a real table before it goes out. That's slower. It's also the entire reason the pieces fit.
Community first — not as a slogan.
The people in the Realm Tiles Discord vote on what I design next, catch the things I miss, and share their own painted builds and mods. This realm grows because the community wants it to — not because an algorithm decided it should.
No ads, no algorithms, no bullshit. I don't sell your data, I don't chase you around the internet, and I don't dress up a mediocre product with a big marketing budget. I make good pieces and I stand behind them. That's the whole model.
The team
Realm Tiles is a solo studio at its core — but that's changing, slowly and on purpose. I'm bringing in folks from the Realm Tiles community to help build packs — people who love the hobby and want to contribute. They're learning the craft as they go, taking some of the load off me, and earning a share on the packs they help make. It's how RT stays grounded in the community: built by people who play with the tiles, not just for them.
Every release still comes through me before it reaches you, so the quality bar stays exactly where it should.
If designing terrain is more your thing than printing it, that door is open too. Details live on the Commercial Licensing page.
What's next
The near-term focus is simple, and I'd rather state it plainly than tease it:
- Grow the file library — new packs on a steady cadence, not a flood.
- Print-on-demand — for folks who want the pieces without owning a printer.
- Commercial Licensing — a real, clean license for makers who want to sell RT prints legally, with the brand behind them. That's over on the Commercial Licensing page.
The roadmap has the current state of all of it, and I keep it honest — including the parts that slip.
Come say hi
The best way to get to know Realm Tiles is to jump into the Discord — that's where the Realm actually lives. If you'd rather just ask a question, talk to Lumin, the support assistant on realmtiles.com. It handles most things on the spot, and when it can't, it hands the conversation straight to me. I reply, usually within a business day. This is a solo studio; you're never talking to a wall.
You can also write to support@realmtiles.com for anything about accounts, billing, files, or prints, or commercial@realmtiles.com about licensing and print partnerships.
One last thing. Realm Tiles isn't a faceless storefront. It's me, a CAD file, a print farm, and a few hundred people in a Discord who tell me what to build next. Every pack that ships got there because someone at a real table said it should exist.
Thanks for being here. Go build something good.
